Add halation glow to your photos, free
On film, bright light passes through the emulsion, reflects off the base, and scatters back — glowing outward from highlights, usually with a warm red cast because the anti-halation layer absorbs unevenly. It is why practical lights in film photographs bleed so beautifully.

How to use it

- Set Threshold so only genuine highlights glow.

What is halation in photography?
Halation is the glow around bright highlights caused by light reflecting inside film and scattering back through the emulsion, often with a reddish tint.
How is it different from bloom?
Bloom is a general highlight glow; halation is specifically the warm, film-derived version caused by reflection off the film base.
